Department of World Languages and Literatures Scholarships
- The Robert A. Fischer Endowed Memorial Scholarship ($600-$1200) for undergraduate students majoring in French, German, or Spanish.
- The Elizabeth Topper Nash Endowed Scholarship ($850-$1,700) for undergraduate students majoring in French.
- The Roberto A. Galván Scholarship ($1,000-$2,000) for undergraduate students majoring or minoring in Spanish.
- The Corinda Crews Moeller Endowed Scholarship ($1,250-$2,500) for undergraduate students majoring or minoring in German.
- The Señor Cicero A. Rust III Endowed Scholarship ($600-$1,200) for an undergraduate student majoring in French, German, or Spanish.
- The Thomas L. and Helen E. Cox Endowed Scholarship ($425-$850) for undergraduate students majoring in French, German, or Spanish.
College of Liberal Arts Scholarships
- The Garron Guszak Scholarship ($2,000) for undergraduate students majoring in a Liberal Arts discipline (including French, German, or Spanish).
- The Harold and Betty Marburger Scholarship ($800-1000): The Harold and Betty Marburger Endowment in Liberal Arts for undergraduate students majoring in French, German, Spanish, English, Geography, History, or Political Science, AND seeking teacher certification.
National Honor Society Scholarships and Professional Organizations
French National Honor Society
- Pi Delta Phi, Texas State University chapter: Epsilon Tau.
- The Joseph W. Yedlicka Award: Candidates must be current members of the Epsilon Tau chapter of Pi Delta Phi to receive this award.

Japanese Scholarships
- Bridging Scholarships (sponsored by the U.S.-Japan Bridging Foundation): The Bridging Scholarship program funds scholarships administered through the American Association of Teachers of Japanese to help students study abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year. Undergraduate students majoring in any field of study and attending any recognized exchange or independent program in Japan are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Government Scholarships
All Languages
- Fulbright Scholarships. This program is designed to give recent graduates opportunities in personal development and international experience.

- The Good Neighbor Scholarship is a financial aid tool that provides students from eligible countries with complementary financial support.
Critical Languages
- The Boren Awards fund the intensive study of language and culture abroad by U.S. undergraduate or graduate students.
- The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) program provides overseas foreign language instruction and cultural immersion experiences for American undergraduate and graduate students in fifteen critical need languages (including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, and Russian).
- The Taiwanese Ministry of Education’s Huayu Enrichment Scholarship. The scholarship aims to help Mandarin Chinese learners of any level enhance their experience by studying at university-affiliated language centers in Taiwan.
French
- Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF). TAPIF offers positions across all 30 regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Mayotte, Martinique, and la Réunion.
German
- Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships. The Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships program is a partnership between the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A Gilman Scholarship Program and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Japanese

- Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. The JET Program is a competitive employment opportunity that allows young professionals to live and work in cities, towns, and villages throughout Japan.
Spanish
- North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP). American college students and graduates partner with elementary and secondary schools in Spain to bolster language programs as language assistants (TAs) under the supervision and guidance of teachers in Spain.
