Japanese Minor named as alternate for Fulbright US Student Program

Amy Oakes received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology with a minor in Japanese from Texas State, since which she has had an interest in applying for a Fulbright grant. When she returned for her graduate degree in international studies, she found the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program to be a perfect fit for her. After completing her master’s degree, Amy plans to continue a career in academia as she pursues a Ph.D. to ultimately become a university professor.
