Kendria Shields-Rhodes, Psychology and Spanish double major, is the 2018 TSUS Regents' Student Scholar
The Department of Modern Languages congratulates Ms. Shield-Rhodes, double major in Psychology and Spanish, who won the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship from the US Department of State to study abroad in Costa Rica; Kendria also won the Regents’ Student Scholar Award and earned a Presidential Upper Level Scholarship. The Board of Regents of the Texas State University System recognizes at least one outstanding student from a TSUS member institution each year with the Regents' Student Scholar Award. Student Scholars are selected by the Chancellor based on their outstanding academic achievement and scholarship, leadership abilities, and contributions to the institution and their community. In addition to a framed resolution and commemorative medallion, Regents' Student Scholars receive $2,500 credited toward their educational expenses. Student Scholars are formally recognized at the Board of Regents meeting each November.
