German major awarded Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals fellowship

Joci Tidey, a senior majoring in German Studies (Class of 2025), has just been awarded a fellowship from the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals, the first ever at Texas State University.
This is a fellowship that annually provides 65 American and 65 German young professionals the opportunity to spend a year in each other's country studying, interning, and living with hosts in a cultural immersion program.
The program consists of three phases: two months of intensive language training, followed by a semester of classes in the student's academic or professional field at a university, technical college, or vocational school, and finally a three- to five-month internship in the student's career field.
In the U.S., CBYX is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs under the authority of the Fulbright-Hays Act of 1961, as amended.
