Texas State German Contest 2025

On Saturday, March 1, our campus hosted the annual Texas State German Contest for the eleventh time. Many thanks to the College of Liberal Arts, the Center for the Study of the Southwest, our home department of World Languages and Literatures, the departments of Psychology, Political Science, Anthropology, Philosophy, History, English, and to TXST Global Admissions for their generous support of this important outreach event.

The 2025 Contest brought 636 high-school and middle-school students from thirty six Texas campuses to San Marcos. The ninety one events they competed in ranged from Pass Auf!/College Bowl to drama to folk dance. We are grateful to the many volunteers, including sixty students in the German program at TXST and ten TXST faculty members for volunteering to make it happen.
