Former student of Chinese receives teaching position in Beijing

Alyssa Dees, former student of Chinese in World Languages and Literatures, has received a position teaching high school literature, public speaking, and targeted writing at the Beijing SMIC Private High School in Beijing, China. In her sophomore year, she studied Chinese abroad in Beijing with the Texas State Chinese Language program and fell in love with the language. She studied and tutored fellow students in Chinese until her graduation from Texas State University in 2018. Since then, she has sought a way not only to return to China, but to increase opportunities for international travel and adventure. The Department of World Languages and Literatures congratulates Alyssa in her success.
