BBVA Foundation to Sponsor Collaboration Between the Department of World Languages and Literatures and Texas State’s Small Business Development Center
The Department of World Languages and Literatures has received a $7,500 grant from the BBVA Foundation to partner with Texas State’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to enhance Spanish-language communications with local small businesses and start-ups.
The BBVA Internship will support a Graduate Research Assistantship to produce translations for SBDC training modules.
This innovative, transdisciplinary collaboration between the Department of World Languages and Literatures and the Small Business Development Center will utilize the specialized language skills of Spanish graduate students to expand SBDC’s outreach to local, Hispanic-owned small businesses in Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties and increase access to capital by underserved populations.
