Olivia Vance will present her essay titled "La maternidad como límite a la autorrealización de las mujeres en dos cuentos latinoamericanos/ Motherhood As a Limit to Women’s Self-Actualization in Two Latin American Stories" at the competitive, peer-reviewed Annual Céfiro Conference, hosted by the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at Texas Tech University. Olivia's essay was developed from her final paper for Dr. Alexandra Perkins' graduate seminar Resistance and Revolution in Contemporary Caribbean Literature. This essay analyses the role of motherhood and maternity as represented in the short stories "Conservas" by Samanta Schweblin (2008) and "La muñeca menor" by Rosario Ferré (1972). Congratulations, Olivia, on this outstanding milestone in your academic journey!
